Silk and Steel

 Wild and wonderful
Spirits rejoice
The space under the sun is still
Her choice
The reasons are hers
The seasons too
From the nadir to the zenith
The ascent is hers
Some bloom in summers
Some do in winters
She holds her ground
Firmly rooted, forever
   Untamed, untrained
Like a tidal wave, unrestrained
Rushing to kiss the shores
In complete abandon
Fearless, she laughs
And dances in the rain.
She dreams, she desires,
She demands, she fires
She surrenders in love
A steely soul in velvet glove
She is a woman
Less of a body,

More a soul!

The Conspiring Clouds

The conspiring clouds,
 get darker by the minute.
Heavy and fecund,
larger than life,
looming over my dry existence.

And,I couldn’t care less!
Let the rain and its rhetoric
 go on forever!

I watch the wanton rain, and
 Its shameless, unrestrained passion,
And refuse to be drawn
 in its wicked game.

The harangue of clouds,
the fury of thunder,
Try with their might
to intimidate me,
mocking my nonchalance,
Fail miserably.

Oh! The temerity of rain
On finding me dry, takes
A dig at me
And I end up
Soaked!
